<p>FORTUNE -- Wall Street wasn't wild about Thursday's reports that Apple (AAPL) was prepared to spend $3.2 billion -- eight times the size of the 1997 acquisition that brought Steve Jobs back to the company -- to buy Beats Electronics' headset and streaming music business.</p>
