Apple negotiates lower credit card transaction fees for mobile payments

The Wall Street Journal this afternoon confirmed that mobile payments are going to be a major focus of the iPhone 6 and Apple’s first smartwatch, both of which are expected to be unveiled at the company’s upcoming September 9th media event in San Francisco. As part of this initiative, Apple has reportedly negotiated lower credit card transaction fees with major credit card issuers for mobile payments.
