<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/64-bit-chrome-web-browser-os-x-officially-launch-november' title="64-bit Chrome web browser for OS X to officially launch in November"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large_wm_brw/public/field/image/2014/08/chrome_mac_hero%20%281%29.jpg?itok=Lbl46x01' /></p> <p>Google will launch the official, non-beta, 64-bit version of its Chrome web browser for OS X (http://www.imore.com/os-x) in November, a few months after an early build of the browser was made available on its Canary and Dev channels (http://www.imore.com/64-bit-chrome-desktop-browser-beta-now-available-os-x).</p> <!--break--> <p>In a blog post, Google stated:</p> <p>Unlike on Windows, where Chrome is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit, on Mac, Chrome will only be available in 64-bit with version 39 and after. As a result, 32-bit NPAPI plugins will not work on Chrome on Mac version 39 onwards."</p><p>In theory, running the 64-bit build of Chrome on OS X should offer better performance for users compared to the 32-bit version. Almost all Mac PCs are able to run the 64-bit version of Chrome, so dumping the 32-bit build shouldn't be a huge issue. If you are an OS X user, are you planning to use the new version of Chrome when it comes out?</p> <p>Source: Google (http://googleappsupdates.blogspot.com/2014/09/google-chrome-64-bit-for-mac-and-windows.html)</p> </div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-27001"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/1/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/1/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/2/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/2/rc.img" border="0"/> <a href="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/3/rc.htm" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/rc/3/rc.img" border="0"/> <img src="http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/a2.img" border="0"/> (http://da.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/a2.htm)<img width="1" height="1" src="http://pi.feedsportal.com/r/204367500021/u/49/f/616881/c/33998/s/3e6b881c/sc/4/a2t.img" border="0"/><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~4/kzP8XX1iPiA" height="1" width="1"/> Source: 64-bit Chrome web browser for OS X to officially launch in November (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/TheIphoneBlog/~3/kzP8XX1iPiA/story01.htm) |
