We knew it was coming, and it’s finally here: Apple on Wednesday announced a media event to be held at its Cupertino headquarters Oct. 16. Of course, the
company didn’t give much—or any—detail as to what journalists and guests can expect, just that “it’s been too long.” Too long for what?</p><p>
<strong>What we expect:</strong>
An iPad Air 2 (perhaps in gold (http://www.macworld.com/article/2689840/all-gold-everything-apple-may-add-new-hue-to-ipad-air-line.html)), a    Retina iMac (http://www.macworld.com/article/2688805/gird-your-wallet-apple-reportedly-has-a-retina-imac-ready-to-launch.html), the official
launch of OS X Yosemite, iOS 8.1, and more information about Apple Pay, which is rumored to    roll out Oct. 20 (http://www.macworld.com/article/2690757/apple-pay-on-its-way-with-rumored-oct-20-drop-date.html).</p><p class="jumpTag"><a href="/article/2692887/it-s-been-way-too-long-apple-to-hold-ipad-event-oct-16.html#jump">To read this article in full or to leave a comment, please click here[/url]</p></section></article>
