Apple may stop selling Fitbit devices in their retail stores

This comes a few days after Fitbit said it had no current plans (http://www.imore.com/fitbit-says-healthkit-interesting-new-platform-has-no-current-plans-support-it) to support Apple's HealthKit (http://www.imore.com/health-iphone-ipad) platform in iOS 8 (http://www.imore.com/ios-8).

The report comes from Re/code, citing unnamed sources, but adds that a specific reason for Apple to stop selling the Fitbit devices is not yet known. Apple declined to comment and a spokesperson for Fitbit said only that the company "looks forward to a robust holiday season as the connected health and fitness category continues its rapid growth."

It's possible Apple may stop selling many of the fitness wearable devices that support iOS in its stores in favor of its own Apple Watch (http://www.imore.com/apple-watch), which is scheduled to go on sale sometime in early 2015. Are you disappointed that Apple may be kicking Fitbit out of its stores?

Source: Re/code (http://recode.net/2014/10/15/apple-plans-to-stop-selling-fitbit-devices-from-stores/)
