Joswiak apologized for the situation, and said that it was not the update itself that cause the issues, according to Re/code (https://twitter.com/Recode/status/527168466084573185):

"It wasn't the software itself it was the way it was distributed" Joswiak on iOS 8.0.1 "We're very sorry"

The 8.0.1 update disabled Touch ID (http://www.imore.com/touch-id) and cellular reception for a number of iPhone 6 (http://www.imore.com/iphone-6) and iPhone 6 Plus (http://www.imore.com/iphone-6-plus) users. Apple corrected the issues a few days later with the release of iOS 8.0.2.

Were you affected by the iOS 8.0.1 problems, and how do you feel about Apple's response to it?
