[/url]

A new interview with movie and TV writer Aaron Sorkin claims that the official announcement for who will take on the title role in his biopic of Apple (http://www.imore.com/apple) co-founder Steve Jobs (http://www.imore.com/steve-jobs) is "imminent". It also reveals some new details about what we can expect to see in the Sony Pictures film.

Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly first sought out for the role but decided to pass. A few weeks ago, Sorkin seemed to confirm that Christian Bale (http://www.imore.com/christian-bale-confirmed-playing-steve-jobs-upcoming-biopic) had agreed to do the part but a few days later it was reported that Bale had turned down the role as well (http://www.imore.com/christian-bale-may-not-don-black-turtleneck-steve-jobs-biopic). More recently, Hollywood media outlets claimed that Michael Fassbender was in talk to take on the movie (http://www.imore.com/michael-fassbender-latest-actor-rumored-aaron-sorkins-steve-jobs-biopic).

In his new interview with The Independent, Sorkin stated that one of the big roles in his biopic will be that of Jobs' daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs. She spoke with Sorkin as part of his research into the script. Sorkin said:

She didn't participate in Walter Isaacson's book, because her father was alive at the time, and she didn't want to alienate either of her parents, so I was very grateful that she was willing to spend time with me ... She is the heroine of the movie."

The movie, to be directed by Danny Boyle, is scheduled to begin production sometime this winter.

Source: The Independent (http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/features/aaron-sorkin-interview-writer-of-the-newsroom-on-his-battle-with-drugs-and-being-a-perfectionist-9862342.html)
