Nest thermostats can now talk to Philips Hue, third-party smart locks and more

The new integrations mean that your Nest thermostat will be able to communicate with a wider range of devices and services.</p> <!--break--> <p>Here's a list of all the services that now work with your Nest thermostat:</p> <ul><li>August smart lock</li> <li>Automatic driving assistant</li> <li>Insteon</li> <li>LG smart home appliances</li> <li>Lutron</li> <li>Ooma Telo</li> <li>Philips Hue</li> <li>Unikey</li> <li>Kevo smart lock</li> <li>Withings Aura</li> </ul><p>With Automatic's driving assistant, the thermostat can detect when you're nearby and automatically begin warming (or cooling) your house. If you've got a smart refrigerator from LG, you can set it to go into energy-saving mode as soon as you leave the house.</p> <p>The new additions bolster the list of companies Nest already works with, which include the likes of Google, Logitech, Mercedes, Dropcam, IFTTT and others.
