Title: An error occured during synchronizing iPod touch to Windows
Post by: NepSteR on February 11, 2008, 06:08:45 pm
My friend has bought iPod touch, and when I try to synchronize it with my computer by the help of iTunes it gives me an error: "iTunes couldn't connect to the iPhone ```` because an unknown error occured (0xE8000001)". What's wrong? I've reinstalled Windows and the same thing happens.

You reinstalled Windows just for that? Wow.
Usually that kind of error occurs because of a bad device driver.
Download the latest iTunes (8.2), and a new driver is installed as well.
I've heard that the driver has changed USB communication to where it interferes with USB SSH'ing though.
But yeah. Shouldn't have to completely reinstall windows.
Try Googling that hex-looking error code.
Someone else is bound to have it.
I had something similar that was solved simply by dis/reconnecting my iPod while iTunes was running.
Speaking of which, look for the Apple helper processes running in the background. (Ctrl+Alt+Del > Processes)
Usually, you can toy around with those processes and get different results.
Have dun with it! There's always the restore button.
