Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei has touched on how he is inspired by Apple before (https://9to5mac.com/2019/05/27/chinese-retaliation-against-apple/), and now he’s saying Apple’s stance on user privacy also inspires Huawei. In an interview cited by CNBC (https://www.cnbctv18.com/technology/huawei-founder-ren-zhengfei-apple-my-role-model-on-unlocking-users-data-3928541.htm), Zhengfei said that Huawei would never provider users’ data to the Chinese government.
