iFixit takes a look inside the iPad Pro's Smart Keyboard in new teardownSurprising absolutely no one, the folks over at iFixit have opened up Apple's new Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro and taken a look inside. The group examined a number of aspects of the keyboard, including its durability, as well as how it connects to the iPad Pro. iFixit found that the fabric that covers the keyboard itself to be highly durable. Additionally, as Apple noted during the iPad Pro introduction, the switches for the keys themselves are the same as those in the new Retina MacBook. But one of the more interesting aspects of the Smart Keyboard is how it interacts with the Smart Connector on the iPad Pro. The Smart Connector consists of three little circular contacts on the side of the tablet that send power and data between the iPad and accessories. But rather than use traditional cables or wires to send data and power to and from the keyboard and the connector, Apple has elected to use a new conductive fabric to do so for extra durability.
