U.S. appeals court rejects challenge of Apple's ebook settlementA challenge to Apple's $450 million payment to settle claims that it conspired to fix ebook prices with five book publishers has been rejected by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. The ruling was made against the challenge filed by Oklahoma resident John Bradley, who claimed that the settlement was unfair to consumers. U.S. District Judge Denise Cote approved the settlement agreement in July 2014 between Apple and U.S. federal and state governments. However, Apple has since appealed that settlement decision. Bradley claimed that Judge Cote should have waited until the appeal was decided before making the decision on whether or not the settlement was fair to consumers. However, the three judges on the appeals court rejected Bradley's challenge. Apple has filed an request for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the settlement ruling, but so far the court has yet to reveal if it will take on the case. Source: Reuters ...<br clear='all'/>
