iTunes 12.4 said to be coming soon with several interface tweaks

Apple's next version of iTunes will reportedly feature a number of minor design tweaks that make the app easier to use. New elements are said to include a dropdown item for switching between Music, Movies, Podcasts, and the other sections of the app, rather than the existing multi-button layout. The app will also reportedly feature a persistent sidebar.

Screenshots obtained by MacRumors seem to offer a look at the new interface tweaks:

A persistent sidebar located on the left side of the app is being added, which will make it easier to access different portions of an iTunes Library like specific songs or albums. The sidebar, like the menu bar, can be edited to show desired content, and songs can be dragged and dropped to playlists.

Some of the buttons will also apparently be tweaked. For instance, the Up Next button seems to have been moved to the right of the player, making it more prominent.

There is no release timeline for the next version of iTunes as of yet.
