With the latest beta of macOS Sierra 10.12.2, Apple has fixed the bug that led the new MacBook Pros to crash while taking a Time Machine backup to an external hard disk connected over one of its Thunderbolt 3 port. The laptops would straight up freeze and then automatically restart.
