HP HPE-150F Update to 10.6.5 kills keyboard and mouse (USB)

Based on things I was reading about the 10.6.5 update (relatively few or no issues), I updated my HP HPE-150F to 10.6.5 and the install went fine, rebooted, but now my keyboard and mouse are inoperable (USB driver issue I am assuming) and I cannot login.
Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, what can be done to resolve? Unfortunately, I bought this hackintosh pre-configured and I am not familiar with how it was set up.
That said, I am a computer programmer and have a relatively high technical aptitude. If someone can steer me in the right direction and I get this fixed, I WILL SEND YOU A MODEST "REWARD".
Thank you in advance for your help.
