Teenage girl discovers that the magnets in Apple’s iPad can interfere with defibrillators
Some people aren’t lucky enough to be born with fully functioning hearts and they need an implant that can kickstart their heart should it stop beating. Said implant is called a defibrillator. A 14 year old girl by the name of Gianna Chien recently discovered that the magnets inside an iPad 2, used to attach Apple’s Smart Cover, can accidentally turn off these defibrillators.
