iPhone thief sends handwritten note of stolen contacts

A thief in China pick-pocketed the wrong iPhone owner -- and then atoned for his crime by sending the man a handwritten list of all 1,000 contacts from the iPhone's address book, reports The Independent. The theft allegedly occurred when the two men shared a cab and the pickpocket nabbed the other rider's iPhone. When the iPhone owner discovered his iPhone had been stolen, he sent the following text to it:

"I know you are the man who sat beside me. I can assure you that I will find you. Look through the contact numbers in my mobile and you will know what trade I am in. Send me back the phone to the address below if you are sensible."

The trade the iPhone owner was in is the Chinese pub trade, which many believe to have links with gangs. A few days after the iPhone was stolen, the owner got a package containing the sim card and an 11-page hand-written note containing the names and phone numbers of all 1,000 contacts.iPhone thief sends handwritten note of stolen contacts originally appeared on TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog on Mon, 25 Nov 2013 20:00:00 EST.  Please see our terms for use of feeds.Source | Permalink | Email this | Comments
