Apple makes iPad Air 2 carrier-agnostic with new bespoke SIM card

It’s not as flashy as a gold patina and not as thrilling as a Retina iMac, but the capabilities of the SIM card in the new iPad Air 2 are every bit as major as Apple’s other announcements on Thursday.</p><p>
When you buy an iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity, you won’t have to confine yourself to one carrier for your data plan. The new Apple SIM lets you choose a carrier and a plan on your iPad, and you can switch service at any time. If you’re in the States, you can choose from the majors—AT&amp;T, Sprint, or T-Mobile—and you can switch to a different one if you’re traveling.
