Apple recruits ex-Amazon VP of Information Security as new Corporate Security ChiefApple has reportedly recruited ex-Amazon VP of Information Security, George Stathakopoulos, to become its Corporate Security Chief. The new hire comes just before Apple heads to court again in its ongoing battle with the FBI. Stathakopoulos has a strong background in security management, and before being at Amazon he was Microsoft's general manager of product security. From Fortune: Stathakopoulos reports to Apple's chief financial officer and will be responsible for protecting corporate assets, such as the computers used to design products and develop software, as well as data about customers. The company's heads of hardware and software remain in charge of protecting users of Apple's products.
