Instagram rolled out an update to its app Monday with some unassuming release notes:
Little did we know, hidden among those performance improvements was a brand new feature that's rolling out over the next few weeks called Snapchat Stories Instagram Stories.
With Stories, you'll be able to post photos and videos throughout the day and your feed will expire 24 hours after you've posted them. You'll even be able to add emoji, text, and sketches to your photos and videos. If all that sounds a little familiar, that's because it is. Snapchat introduced an incredibly similar feature nearly three years ago. Good news is, if you've used Snapchat's Story feature, you'll be ready to tackle Instagram's Story feature.
