Every actor on our ruined planet will star in Apple TV+'s 'Extrapolations'

<p>Extrapolations, a drama series focusing on the near-future impacts of <a data-i13n="cpos:1;pos:1" href="https://www.engadget.com/tag/climate%20change/">climate change, is coming to <a data-i13n="cpos:2;pos:1" href="https://www.engadget.com/tag/apple%20tv%20plus/">Apple TV+ next month. The streaming service has <a data-i13n="cpos:3;pos:1;elm:affiliate_link;sellerN:Apple;elmt:;" href="https://shopping.yahoo.com/rdlw?merchantId=4130e2f0-a14f-4c5e-bdab-cd52ac7d8e79&amp;siteId=us-engadget&amp;pageId=1p-autolink&amp;featureId=text-link&amp;merchantName=Apple&amp;custData=eyJzb3VyY2VOYW1lIjoiV2ViLURlc2t0b3AtVmVyaXpvbiIsInN0b3JlSWQiOiI0MTMwZTJmMC1hMTRmLTRjNWUtYmRhYi1jZDUyYWM3ZDhlNzkiLCJsYW5kaW5nVXJsIjoiaHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuYXBwbGUuY29tL3R2LXByL25ld3MvMjAyMy8wMi9hcHBsZS11bnZlaWxzLXRyYWlsZXItZm9yLXN0YXItc3R1ZGRlZC1kcmFtYS1leHRyYXBvbGF0aW9ucy1mcm9tLXZpc2lvbmFyeS13cml0ZXItZGlyZWN0b3ItYW5kLXByb2R1Y2VyLXNjb3R0LXotYnVybnMvIiwiY29udGVudFV1aWQiOiJjNzRjMzkyNC1lNTE0LTQwZjAtYTViNC1jNWM3Yzg0YjAyOGMifQ&amp;signature=AQAAATJoj98YmElGMSYGjG2nhnuhz60X4QlekOa4Yr-p2h78&amp;gcReferrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Ftv-pr%2Fnews%2F2023%2F02%2Fapple-unveils-trailer-for-star-studded-drama-extrapolations-from-visionary-writer-director-and-producer-scott-z-burns%2F">released the first trailer, which shows off a cast stuffed full of big names. Among the stars featured in the show are Meryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Kit Harington, Daveed Diggs, Edward Norton, Yara Shahidi, Matthew Rhys, Gemma Chan, David Schwimmer, Keri Russell, Marion Cotillard, Forest Whitaker, Tobey Maguire and Murray Bartlett (who was most recently seen in <a data-i13n="cpos:4;pos:1" href="https://www.engadget.com/the-last-of-us-season-one-hbo-review-080135969.html">The Last of Us).</p><p>The eight-episode series showcases &quot;interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family,&quot; Apple says. Extrapolations depicts how people from around the planet are adapting (or perhaps not) to the effects of climate change. It covers a several-decade span in the middle of the 21st century, by which time humans have <a data-i13n="cpos:5;pos:1" href="https://www.engadget.com/nasa-darpa-nuclear-thermal-engine-crewed-missions-mars-200827580.html">landed on Mars.</p><span id="end-legacy-contents"></span><p>Given the cast and the visual effects-packed trailer, it's clear Apple has spared little expense on this series. The clip shows a future version of Manhattan protected by sea walls and hints at technology that might allow humans to &quot;thrive&quot; in a world further wracked by climate change.</p><p>Contagion writer and An Inconvenient Truth producer Scott Z. Burns created the show. The first three episodes of Extrapolations will premiere on Apple TV+ on March 17th, with the remaining five arriving on a weekly basis.</p><div id="d313346999354106b0b49d6cd05784bb"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2QP-xrG0kZk?rel=0" style="top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;position:absolute;border:0;" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no"></iframe></div><p></p>
