OS 10.3.9 on a Hackintosh?

My legally purchased iBook G4 quit recently. I think something is broken, but before I invest a lot of $$ in fixing whatever it is I would like to know if it is possible to build a Hackintosh that will run Mac OS 10.3. I realize this is before the Apple Intel chip era. I need to run this OS because it will run the Classic Environment, and I have a lot of perfectly good software that is pre-OS X. I am retired and cannot afford to buy all new software.
Alternatively, my iBook G3 running OS 9.0.4 will still run everything I need (I am responsible for maintaining a newsletter and minutes for an organization). If a Hackintosh will access my external hard drives formatted for the old Mac OS 10.3.9, I could use other means to transfer files from the G3 to the Hackintosh.
Anyone? Thanks in advance for any information.
