Apple on Wednesday issued an apology for the debacle that greeted would-be iPhone 4 buyers the previous day due to ordering-system overloads at Apple and AT&T. "Yesterday Apple and its carrier partners took pre-orders for more than 600,000 of Apple's new iPhone 4," reads a statement issued by the company.
