EA and Apple test out a promotion for free in-app purchases

EA is giving away promo codes that unlock $2 in virtual currency in the game "Real Racing 3" for iOS. Previously, Apple promo codes were only used for paid app giveaways.<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=gigaom.com&blog=14960843&post=842269&subd=gigaom2&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />
