<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/media-picks-week-bobby-womack-orphan-black-internets-own-boy-and-more' title="Media picks of the week: Bobby Womack, Orphan Black, The Internet's Own Boy and more!"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large_wm_brw/public/field/image/2014/06/bobby_womack.jpg?itok=tu4vwO_8' /></p> <p>Every week Apple adds tons of new media content on iTunes — music, books, movies and more. It's impossible to keep up with all of it, but it's not impossible to pick out the very best. Here they are! This week we've got soul and R&amp;B legend Bobby Womack, a documentary about the life and death of Internet prodigy and activist Aaron Swartz, and much more!</p> <!--break--> <h2>The best of Bobby Womack - The Soul Years</h2> <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/sbbZ_k1Z8gU?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-sbbzk1z8gu" frameborder="0"></iframe> <p>Soul legend Bobby Womack passed away this past week at age 70. His career spanned half a century. He started out a child prodigy, part of a musical family from Cleveland, Ohio. Discovered by the legendary Sam Cooke, Womack came to national attention as a member of the Valentinos, later striking out on his own, with hits like "Lookin' for a Love," "That's the Way I Feel About Cha," "Woman's Gotta Have It" and many others. Those hits and many others are included here: This collection — 22 tracks in all — highlights Womack at the height of his creative and popular influence.</p> <ul><li>$11.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/best-bobby-womack-soul-years/id721299070?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>The Internet's Own Boy</h2> <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RvsxnOg0bJY?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-rvsxnog0bjy" frameborder="0"></iframe> <p>Currently playing in theaters, it's is also available to rent on iTunes. It's the story of Aaron Swartz, who at 14 became part of the working group that authored the RSS 1.0 spec. He'd go on to work on Markdown with Daring Fireball's John Gruber, co-founded Reddit and more. He turned his attention to political activism, running afoul of the law after he downloaded a large number of academic journal articles through MIT's computer network. He was arrested and prosecuted; the pressure of it caused Swartz to hang himself. Was the government to blame? Put the pieces together in this fascinating documentary.</p> <ul><li>$6.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/the-internets-own-boy/id880571554?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>Orphan Black Season 2</h2> <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/mfUxpTSnq4o?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-mfuxptsnq4o" frameborder="0"></iframe> <p>Con artist Sarah Manning's entire world is turned upside down when she discovers that she is one of a number of clones born in 1984. Caught between two factions called the Neolutionists and the Proletheans, Sarah must protect her daughter, Kira, at all costs. Season two ups the action and the stakes in this non-stop thriller that doesn't seem that implausible given current science.</p> <ul><li>$25.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/orphan-black-season-2/id836745923?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</li> </ul><h2>Red Data Girl</h2> <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/iNJaE6llsD0?rel=0&amp;autoplay=0&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;controls=2&amp;autohide=1&amp;showinfo=0" width="627" height="353" class="video-filter video-youtube vf-injae6llsd0" frameborder="0"></iframe> <p>New anime from Funimation. 15 year old Izumiko is shy and has a difficult time making connections with people, but what's really odd is that every time she touches computers or cell phones they crash. Is she cursed? No, she's blessed — in fact, she's the last vessel of a goddess. What's more, Miyuki, a bully who tormented Izumiko throughout their childhood — must serve as her protector. Twelve episodes. First one is free. Each episode is available for $1.99 if you'd prefer not to buy the whole run.</p> <p>$16.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/red-data-girl-season-1/id874977465?at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</p> <h2>Unexpected Stories by Octavia E. Butler</h2> <p><a href='http://www.imore.com/media-picks-week-bobby-womack-orphan-black-internets-own-boy-and-more' title="Media picks of the week: Bobby Womack, Orphan Black, The Internet's Own Boy and more!"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2014/06/unexpected_stories.jpg?itok=4ClEgrcn' /></p> <p>One of science fiction's most unique and compelling voices, Butler is a true master. Unexpected Stories includes two never-before-published stories: "A Necessary Being," a novella that tells the story of Tahneh, a race of beings whose leadership qualities make them so valuable that they are captured and forced to govern. One day she must choose between capturing another of her kind or spending the rest of her life alone. The other story, "Childfinder," was commissioned by the legendary Harlan Ellison, and tells the story of a telepath who must try to help a young girl harness her growing powers.</p> <p>$3.99 - <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/unexpected-stories/id870936403?mt=11&amp;at=10l3Vy&amp;ct=d_im" title="" rel="nofollow">Download now</p> <h2>Your movie, TV and music picks?</h2> <p>There are my media picks for this week.
