Apple credits App Store with job creation in Europe

Apple says that 629,000 have either been created by the company, or are supported by it. The part the App Store plays in this is given extra attention, with 497,000 jobs alone attributed to the Store. Over $6.5 billion has been paid to developers based in Europe, and the App Store is responsible for billions of dollars in revenues to Europe's GDP, according to Apple:</p> <!--break-->
<p>In 2014 the overall app economy is expected to deliver $16.5 billion in revenues to EU GDP, and this contribution is growing at a rate of 12% per year. Globally, the app economy will add an estimated $86 billion in revenues to worldwide GDP in 2014.</p>
