New Steve Jobs documentary bought by CNN and Magnolia Pictures

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p class="intro">'Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine', the latest documentary on the life of Apple's late co-founder, has been jointly acquired by CNN and Magnolia Pictures. The film made its debut this week at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.</p> <!--break--> <p>The film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Alex Gibney. who previously directed documentaries such as 'Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room', 'We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks', and 'The Armstrong Lie'. His latest movie is "Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief.'</p> <p>'The Man in the Machine' is said to be an honest and often critical look back at Jobs's life and career. According to Deadline:</p>
<p>Magnolia acquired theatrical, VOD and home entertainment rights and CNN Films has the television broadcast distribution rights. Magnolia has distributed seven of Gibney's films.</p>
<p>There's no word on when the film will get a general release to the public.
