iPad Leads in Crucial Cat Market

Screen capture from "iggy investigates an iPad" by YouTube user rautiocination Another compelling argument for the viability of the iPad as an Internet device comes from a cat named Iggy. Sure, the iPad has Wi-Fi. A forthcoming version will have 3G connectivity. And it's got Safari built-in. But won't somebody think of the kittens? The Internet, after all, is made of cats.YouTube user rautiocination on Monday posted a video of his cat, Iggy, watching and touching the iPad as it ran Namco Networks America's Noby Noby Boy and Nick Lee's Magic Piano. The Internet fell off its chair, laughing hysterically, prompting the makers of the Internet's chair to announce plans for a new humor-proof seat. Prior to the video, iPad users could only point to the preponderance of cat-related apps on the App Store, such as George Talusan's Cat Piano app, which lets you play soothing or screeching synthesized meowlodies. Or, they could add cats to any photo with Cory Alder's CatPaint. The iPad can also run the I Can Has Cheezburger app, enabling it to view all the lastest LOLcat images.Cat haters don't have to feel left out. They have their own app: Inner Four Inc.'s Cat Annoy Extreme.Of course, the appearance of Meowy McMeowerson, Grand High President of All Cats and Ruler of the Cat Domain, on this website proves incontrovertibly that cats approve of Mac|Life. That, plus the apps, plus the newly posted video of Iggy, embedded below, cement Apple's lead as a key player in the competitive feline humor market.
