Developers are loving Apple's Swift programming language<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p class="intro">Apple's new Swift programming language is proving quite popular with developers, according to a new survey.</p> <p>More than three-quarters of the developers currently using
Swift have said that they plan to continue using it. Swift has proven more popular than the likes of C++ and Rust, according to the
Stack Overflow 2015 Developer Survey.<!--break--> However, Swift is only ninth on the list of languages and technologies that developers look forward to using.</p> <p>Swift was first introduced at
WWDC 2014. Presented as the next generation of programming for Apple devices, Swift is able to sit alongside Objective-C code in apps, or stand on its own. Swift also continues to grow and change, with the language recently hitting version 1.2 with the release of Xcode 6.3.</p> <p>For its part, Objective-C, the primary language used for developing apps on iOS and Mac, also made some top spots on the list.
