First of all, it comes from the minds of The Wachowskis, best known as the writers and directors of the Matrix movie trilogy. The duo teamed up with J. Michael Straczynski, the creator of the famed sci-fi TV series Babylon 5, to write all the episodes and The Wachowskis directed several of them. Here's the brief but official description:</p>
<p>One gunshot, one death, one moment out of time that irrevocably links eight minds in disparate parts of the world, putting them in each other's lives, each other's secrets, and in terrible danger. Ordinary people suddenly reborn as "Sensates."</p>
