It is teaming up with game publisher Electronic Arts on this new venture, which is currently taking sign-ups for its beta test. Xfinity Games will give customers a way to play games on their big screen TV that are streamed via their Comcast-provided set-top box.

Comcast says:

No downloads or extra equipment required. Instead, players use their smartphones or tablets as controllers. It's perfect for families with kids and even those of us who haven't picked up a game in years.

Comcast customers can go ahead and sign up for the beta test at the official Xfinity Games website. The beta will offer access to many of EA's games, including Plants Vs Zombies, Real Racing and more. The beta version supports a number of iPhones and iPads at the moment. There's no word yet on when Xfinity Games will launch for all Comcast customers, nor is their any information on pricing for the service.

Source: Comcast
