Apple held on to its spot as the top U.S. smartphone manufacturer, netting 44.1% of all smartphone purchases, according to the latest data from comScore. That's a 1.5% bump, up from 42.6% in March. Samsung came in second place with 28.1% of the market, down slightly from it's March share of 28.3%. LG, Motorola, and HTC followed, with 8.3%, 4.9%, and 3.4%, respectively.</p> <p>Android remains the most popular operating system, though its share fell by 0.8% to 51.6%. iOS climbed to 44.1%, up from 42.6% in March. Windows Phone kept the third spot, though with a decrease from 3.3% to 2.9%. BlackBerry dropped from 1.6% down to 1.2%. Symbian still sits in fifth place, staying constant at 0.1%.</p> <p>In the U.S., 190.3 million people owned smartphones during the measuring period. According to comScore, the ten most popular apps for smartphone owners between March and June of 2015 were Facebook, YouTube, Facebook Messenger, Google Search, Google Play, Google Maps, Pandora Radio, Gmail, Instagram, and Yahoo Stocks.</p> <p>Source:
