Apple Car reportedly looking for a test track!

[/url]

There's a new report out that claims, based on documents obtained via a public records act, that Apple team members have met with officials at the GoMentum Station facility near San Francisco to try and sort out testing space for the rumored Apple Car. GoMentum Station is based at the former Concord Naval Weapons Station that has over 20 miles of paved street and highways. The Guardian

"We would ... like to get an understanding of timing and availability for the space, and how we would need to coordinate around other parties who would be using [
it]."

The Guardian's headline claims "proof" that Apple is not just making a car, but a self driving car. If the Guardian did indeed obtain such proof, it's not presented in the article. Apple could very well be seeking to test a self-driving car, but they could also be seeking to test a car with varying degrees of automation, or even unannounced cars by other manufacturers that include new CarPlay integration.

It is likely, based on previous reports, that Apple continues to work on Project Titan out of offices the company has long held in Sunnyvale, and that as the project continues, more testing will need to be done, both of the hardware and software, and that means more information will likely leak out.

Just like what happened with iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Rene Ritchie contributed to this article.
