Twitter has updated its official Mac app with support for the longer, 10,000-character direct messages. Additionally, popular third-party Twitter client
Tweetbot has also added the feature, along with Retina display performance improvements.</p> <!--break--> <p>Previously, Twitter held direct messages to the same 140-character limit they place on standard tweets and replies.
