Apple begins alerting iCloud users to pricing changes

Apple has begun alerting iCloud users to the pricing changes that it originally announced at its iPhone event last week. The company is sending an email out to users, informing them that their storage will be increasing for the same monthly price they were paying before.

To recap, the new pricing structure does away with some smaller storage options, offering just 3 tiers with the following prices:

50GB - $0.99/month

200GB - $2.99/month

1TB - $9.99/month

This should end up as a net positive for any users that happened to be on the 20GB or 500GB plans previously, as the 50GB option is now available at just under a dollar.

Unless you wish to change your plan, you won't have to do a thing. Your plan will automatically renew on your next billing date with the new storage options. If you'd like to check out specific pricing for your region, Apple has also updated its iCloud pricing support document with prices in local currencies for countries around the world.
