IBM has deployed over 30,000 Macs to its employees so far

<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p>Apple's recent partnership with IBM, which saw IBM give its employees the opportunity to choose Macs as their business computers, has led to significant enterprise growth for Apple. Since implementing the option earlier this year, IBM has deployed more than 30,000 Macs throughout the company, according to Apple CFO Luca Maestri during Apple's Q4 2015 earnings call.</p> <!--break--> <p>Maestri said that each Mac at IBM is saving the company around $270 over traditional PCs thanks to lower support costs, along with other factors.</p>
<p>"Inside IBM, Macs are gaining tremendous traction. There are currently over 30,000 Macs deployed within the company. With 1,900 more being added each week. IBM tells us that each Mac is saving 270 dollars compared to a traditional PC, thanks to much reduced support costs and better residual value. This is a terrific example of the kind of opportunity our devices offer to improve user experience and create value in the enterprise world."</p>
<p>The Mac@IBM program originally launched in May 2015, following Apple's partnership with IBM on a new class of mobile enterprise apps. IBM had previously stated that it hoped to deploy around 50,000 Macs by the end of 2015.</p> </div></div></div><br clear='all'/>
