In an internal memo obtained by 9to5Mac, Apple informed retail employees of the upcoming switch, which is set to take place on April 15: We're committed to leaving the world better than we found it. One bag at a time. So on April 15, we'll switch to paper shopping bags made from 80 percent recycled materials. These bags come in medium and large. Going a step further, the memo instructs retail employees to ask customers if they need a bag, giving them the option to cut down on bag waste even further. The move makes sense given Apple's focus on going green and reducing waste with everything from its energy consumption to its packaging choices and recycling program.
