True Religion hopes the Apple Watch can help improve customer engagement

Clothing retailer True Religion has started giving Apple Watches to its retail employees in an effort to increase customer engagement. The company started the rollout in its stores in Los Angeles and New York City, and will expand it to between 20 and 30 of their stores soon.

With the watch, retail staff can be alerted through the Apple Watch app when loyalty program customers with the company's iPhone app installed enter a store. From AppleInsider:

The Apple Watch app, made in partnership between Aptos and Formula 3, gives sales associates information about the customers, including product recommendations and buying patterns. True Religion hopes that its Apple Watch app will lead to better interaction between retail staff and customers.
