CurrentC beta test ending on June 28; further efforts postponedCurrentC, the Apple Pay competitor put forth by the MCX consortium, will soon end its beta test. Accounts will be closed on June 28, and all upcoming releases of CurrentC will be postponed indefinitely.
MCX sent out a letter to beta participants with this information, according to Consumerist:
On June 28, 2016, all active accounts will be disabled and you will not be able to access your CurrentC account from the CurrentC app. For frequently asked questions, please see our website at
www.currentc.com.
The CurrentC FAQ offers more details on the end of the beta. Customers will still be able to use CurrentC though June 28, and items like loyalty points will remain with you even if you remove your account information from the app. The site also points customers towards the CurrentC Customer Care line for help closing their accounts.
