Apple Wins Patents Filed in 2007

According to iPodnn, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Apple a number of patents filed back in 2007. That's right--there's a possibility that you could wait three whole years to have the U.S. government tell you that your ideas belong to you. Huzzah for bureaucracy! The patents granted to Apple fall on both the "meh" and  "whoo" side of the fence, yet are both important assests to the company. Coming in under "meh" are a number of filings for low-level, yet important concepts, such as serial bus compatibility, voltage regulation, and ways of mitigating heat in electronic devices. On the higher profile "whoo" side of things, Apple can now call the ideas for the looks and design of the iPod Classic their very own,  and one for the implementation of a portable media player as a remote control for a media server. More interesting than all of these combined is a patent detailing a concept for color correction in
digital photos, not for camera phones, but for what appears to be an actual camera.  iPodnn has linked their story to the folks over at Patently Apple. If you're down for some deep digging on today's patent wins, not to mention a whole world of in-depth Apple-related news, they're worth more than a few minutes of your time.
