Apple’s squid emoji has been anatomically incorrect for years, Monterey Bay Aquarium points out

<p>Apple recently <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/apple-fixes-bagel-emoji/" rel="nofollow">changed its bagel emoji[/url] in response to criticisms that it didn’t look delicious enough, and soon we may see it revise its squid emoji in order to make it more anatomically correct. Earlier on Wednesday, the Twitter account of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California produced a <a href="https://twitter.com/MontereyAq/status/1070410363521269760" rel="nofollow">series of tweets[/url] explaining the inaccuracy alongside a photo of a real squid.</p><p>The issue lies with the squid emoji’s siphon—a valve that lets a squid breathe and release waste. You’ll find this valve on the underside of a squid in real life, but in Apple’s emoji it looks like a “weirdo nose,” to use the aquarium’s tweeted words.
