Apple University dean Joel Podolny leaves company for startup

Joel Podolny has left Apple.
Podolny created and ran Apple University since 2009.
He has been replaced with two co-deans that previously worked for him.


Apple's training lead is on to a new venture.

Apple is going to have to look for a new dean for its university.

As reported by Bloomberg, Joel Podolny, the dean of Apple University, has left the company to join a startup. The university serves as the company's in-house training management platform and Podolny had developed it with Steve Jobs over a decade ago.


  Podolny had run the program since early 2009, when he was hired by former Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs to create the program. He previously served as a dean of the Yale School of Management and a professor at Harvard University.
