iTeleport VNC App Goes Universal

One of the best VNC apps for the iPhone has finally made the jump to a universal app, complete with native iPad support. If you have a need to keep an eye on your computer’s screen -- be it in another room of your house or halfway around the world -- one of the best solutions to date has been iTeleport (formerly Jaadu VNC). Though a bit on the pricey side at $24.99, iTeleport has proven itself one of the best VNC solutions on the iPhone to date.iTeleport was ready on iPad launch day with a separate (and equally costly) app dedicated to that device’s larger screen, but existing iTeleport users were instructed to wait a bit for a true universal app that would work with both the iPhone and iPad. That day has finally arrived, complete with a few extra features to boot.In addition to native iPad support, iTeleport version 4.0.1 features a redesigned remote with simultaneous screen view, the ability to use the free iTeleport Connect on your desktop for zero configuration setup (negating the need for router port forwarding to use iTeleport through an EDGE or 3G connection from anywhere), cut, copy & paste support featuring remote copy and a full-screen mode -- a three-finger swipe up now hides the tool bar to maximize your screen real estate on any device.iTeleport excels at very high resolution displays on the Mac, Windows, Linux and AMX Touchscreen interfaces and even supports VPN-based encryption. Keystrokes are also supported, and you can even use iTeleport to view Flash-based websites that Apple otherwise doesn’t support (although audio & video streaming isn’t supported on any VNC app, including iTeleport). The new universal iTeleport app is a 6.6MB download, available now on the App Store for only $24.99 (existing users get the upgrade absolutely free -- just be sure not to download the separate iTeleport for iPad app, unless you never plan to own an iPhone or iPod touch).
