PopCap Developing More iPad Titles
Screen shot of Plants vs Zombies HD from PopCap.comMore of PopCap's games are being re-developed for the iPad, a development manager at the game studio said recently.Andrew Stein, PopCap's director of mobile business development, informed touchArcade of plans to develop more games for the iPad in a cryptic e-mail this week."We are working on other iPad adaptations of some of our leading franchises," Stein wrote. Right now, PopCap's only title that takes advantage of the iPad's higher resolution is Plants vs Zombies HD.TouchArcade asked Stein if the company was working on iPad-ready versions of Peggle, Chuzzle or Bejeweled."It's probably safe to say that at least one of the games you cite will eventually make its way to Apple's latest device," Stein wrote to touchArcade.Brad Nicholson, who wrote the post on touchArcade, speculated that Peggle and Bejeweled are the most likely candidates for upgrades, because both have already been released on multiple platforms.If you don't have one of those new-fangled handheld gadgets like an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you can still play PopCap's games. The company offers 13 downloadable games for Mac and almost 20 games playable in web browsers.
