THIS TORRENT THAT I GOT SAID IT WAS COMPATIBLE WITH AMD***********
ok. i have a snow leopard installation i got from a torrent. i have:
HP desktop 4gb ram ati radeon HD 4200 graphics card 1916 mb memory realtek digital output(realtek hd) AMD phenom 2 X2 521 processor 3.5 GHz 1tb HD model # p6823w
when i set up my bios-
IDE enabled LAN boot disabled
factory default:
IDE disabled, AHCI enabled LAN boot enabled(low on priority list for boot)
when i went into the snow leopard installer, when i pressed f8, a prompt named "boot" was on the bottom, with some info above. it said to choose the installation disk to use
i pressed enter, randomly restarted. typed "-v", showed some dialog, restarted. i typed -f , -x , etc all with the same results.
i had to launch a restore wizard because i think i changed my bios.
fortunately, i got windows back. but after i saw the install videos, i cant wait to start snow leopard.
i made this guide out of one of the videos i watched:
Insert dvd
Type in “-v” (minus)(letter v)

Volume Scheme: Volume Information 1 Partition name: Macintosh HD Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

If the screen resolution is messed up (probably): Go To the Macintosh HD System Folder>Library>Extensions Search for “VoodooHDA.kext” If it is highlighted red, DELETE IT Search for “AppleTyMCEDriver.kext” DELETE IT

In the “Display” List, Select your driver (ATI Radeon HD 4200, 1916 MB) Click “Add Device” In the pop-up window, click “write to com.apple.Boot.plist”
In the recycle bin, drag “VoodooHDA.kext” to the desktop Double click on it In the applications docklet, find “Kext Utility” Drag Kext Utility to the dock Drag VoodooHDA.txt to Kext Utility on the dock Wait for it to run launcher, then let it process the file Reboot
