Adding software (like games) to iPhone

I'm wondering how I could add software to the iPhone.
I heard that you need an installer like installer.apps (is that right?)
And do we need to use wifi to get that installer into the iPhone?
Please let me know, Thanks!

yes you will need wifi to ssh into your phone and also the installer has a good amount of games on it, including the NES emulator. You need to jailbreak your phone to install anything on it and you also need to pay attention to the firmware you are running. I believe iFuntastic just came out today that is supposed to jailbreak it for you, otherwise just wait for the app tapp installer if you are not comfortable with the command prompt.
