China More Likely Source of iOS 6 Bump, Not Google Maps
Anecdotally we’ve heard that people were holding off updating to iOS 6 because of the switch from Google to Apple Maps until Google came out with a replacement. Makes sense. I know a few people who were holding off for just that reason, so when iOS 6 adoption jumped 29% after Google Maps for iPhone came out, the correlation seemed plausible for causation. But maybe we were a little hasty.
