<div class="field field-name-body field-type-text-with-summary field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" property="content:encoded"><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/how-restrict-siri-airdrop-and-carplay-parental-restrictions-iphone-and-ipad' title="How to restrict Siri, AirDrop, and CarPlay with parental restrictions for iPhone and iPad"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large_wm_brw/public/field/image/2014/08/voice_control_iphone_5s_hero.jpg?itok=QcXADrYj' /></p> <p>Every iPhone and iPad comes with a restrictions section built in, also known as parental controls. Aside from doing things like blocking in-app purchases, you can also restrict features such as the ability to use <a href="http://www.imore.com/siri" title="Siri commands, tricks, apps, help, and how-to">Siri, AirDrop, and CarPlay. Just enable restrictions and choose what features you want to block.</p> <!--break--> <h2>How to block Siri, AirDrop, and CarPlay with restrictions for iPhone and iPad</h2> <ol><li>Launch the <strong>Settings app</strong> on your iPhone or iPad. </li> <li>Tap on <strong>General</strong>. </li> <li>Tap on <strong>Restrictions</strong>. </li> <li>Tap on <strong>Enable Restrictions</strong> at the top if you don't already have them turned on. If you do, skip down to step 6. </li> <li>Choose a password that you'll use to turn restrictions on and off. Only you should know this passcode. </li> <li>Turn <strong>Off</strong> the options for <strong>Siri, CarPlay, and AirDrop</strong>. </li> </ol><p><a href='http://www.imore.com/how-restrict-siri-airdrop-and-carplay-parental-restrictions-iphone-and-ipad' title="How to restrict Siri, AirDrop, and CarPlay with parental restrictions for iPhone and iPad"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2014/08/restrictions_siri_airdrop_carplay_howto_1.jpg?itok=RfKzml2i' /><a href='http://www.imore.com/how-restrict-siri-airdrop-and-carplay-parental-restrictions-iphone-and-ipad' title="How to restrict Siri, AirDrop, and CarPlay with parental restrictions for iPhone and iPad"><img src='http://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/large/public/field/image/2014/08/restrictions_siri_airdrop_carplay_howto_2.jpg?itok=mO2K77Bh' /></p> <p>If you aren't exactly sure what Siri, CarPlay, and AirDrop are, or whether or not you should block them, here's a brief overview of each so you can better decide:</p> <ul><li><strong>Siri</strong>: Siri is Apple's digital voice assistant. There are tons of commands you can ask Siri and receive an answer. Since Siri is capable of so much, you can disable it which replaces it with Voice Control, which only takes more basic commands. To learn even more, you can check out our entire Siri guide via the link below. </li> <li><strong>CarPlay</strong>: CarPlay is Apple's solution to using iOS in the car. If you have a car that is CarPlay enabled and you don't want a young driver being able to pair their iPhone with the car, disable CarPlay. </li> <li><strong>AirDrop</strong>: With AirDrop you can wirelessly transfer files between other iPhones and iPads. This also means that depending on settings, their device may be viewable to anyone, which means anyone can send that device files. This may be a feature you don't want young children to have access to as it may open up their iPhones and iPads to inappropriate content unintentionally. </li> </ul><p>See also:</p> <ul><li>How to use Siri: The ultimate guide</li> <li>How to use AirDrop: The ultimate guide</li> </ul></div></div></div><div id="comment-wrapper-nid-26140"></div><img width='1' height='1' src='http://tipb.com.feedsportal.com/c/33998/f/616881/s/3d353123/sc/4/mf.gif' border='0'/><br clear='all'/>
