Jony Ive, could present a huge threat to Switzerland's luxury non-smart watch market.</p> <!--break--> <p>A profile on the history of wearables in the
New York Times suggest that Apple could once again revolutionize another market, much like how the company transformed geeky MP3 players to chic iPod, which became a fashion icon with the iconic white headphones.</p> <p>"According to a designer who works at Apple," the
Times cited, "Jonathan Ive, Apple's design chief, in bragging about how cool he thought the iWatch was shaping up to be, gleefully said Switzerland is in trouble."</p> <p>Smartwatches from rivals such as LG, Samsung, and Sony have so far not taken the market by storm. The
Times postulates that the reason is because these manufacturers worry too much about functionality and sacrifice form.</p> <p>Could Apple have a winning design by balancing form and functionality with intuitive UIs? Hopefully, we'll learn on September 9th where
