Reported QuickType vulnerability could predict your password

[/url]

There could be a vulnerability with Apple's QuickType keyboard that would allow passwords to be revealed as part of Apple's next word prediction feature in iOS 8. A few reports have surfaced on Apple's official support forums saying that QuickType would suggest the password or part of a user's password when filling out fields in a website or in select text input applications.

Apple user ramiroegueta wrote of the experience:

lets [
sic] say my user name is AppleUser and my pass is OrageJuice!2, every time I enter AppleUser Quick Type suggest me OrangeJuice, the worst part is that also suggest me other passwords from other services and old passwords that I already change, I found this while trying to login to an OWA web portal, but it happens on any text inpute, like Notes

One way to protect your way would be to turn off the prediction for the QuickType keyboard. To learn more how to do this, you can visit our QuickType guide.

At the time of this writing, we have not been able to replicate this behavior on a few iPhone devices here at iMore. Have you noticed this behavior when using QuickType and entering passwords?

Source: Apple Support via iDownload Blog
